N. Braddock, Turtle Creek Brace For More Flooding

TURTLE CREEK, Pa. —

Cleanup continues on Friday in Turtle Creek and North Braddock after flash flooding soaked streets and flooded cars and basements on Wednesday night. Now area residents are bracing for the second of a one-two punch from Mother Nature.

"We are trying to weather the storm. We have a dog and we are not planning on leaving, " said Turtle Creek resident Larry Washington.

Washington is just one of dozens of Larimer Ave. residents still drying out after their homes and cars were flooded by drenching downpours.

While many residents have returned to their homes, others are staying at a nearby shelter or with family and friends. The evacuation shelter at East Allegheny High School will be reopened at 7 p.m. Friday for residents that need a place to stay.
