Neighbors Want Answers About Missing Packages

Questions Surround Firing Of Postal Carrier

VENETIA, Pa. —

People in Venetia are still looking for answers about the firing of a local postal carrier.

Some people are claiming that several of their packages were found in the carrier's garbage.

A U.S. Post Office letter carrier was caught failing to deliver letter mail but apparently keeping packages of great value.

The goods never arrived at homes all over Venetia since last March.

Neighbors claimed they got empty boxes back from the post office proving their goods were stolen.

Postal officials refused to give Channel 11 any details.

Neighbors said they want to know why the part-time letter carrier wasn't charged by the U.S. attorney.

U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan acknowledged she will personally look into the case.
