The Penguins gave Channel 11 News an inside look at the new Consol Energy Center.

Crews have already installed 2,700 seats. The new seats are 18 inches wide and give fans 33 inches of leg room.

"Our whole focus was on being fan-friendly first, making sure it’s a great experience for the fans, and the seating is a big part of that,” Penguins CEO Ken Sawyer said. “We checked with other arenas, particularly newer ones, to see what their spaces were and we wanted to be at the leading edge of any arena."

The $321 million arena will have 18,000 seats for hockey fans and 66 suites. Lady Gaga will perform at the first concert at the arena on Sept. 5.
