Officer Hit By Car In Elizabeth Twp.

A police officer was hit by a car Saturday morning in Elizabeth Township, emergency dispatch workers said.

The unidentified officer was hit on Route 48 at about 2 a.m.

The officer was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not available.

It was not clear whether the officer was in a vehicle.

The accident is under investigation.
