PITTSBURGH —
The following restrictions will occur:
Inbound
Single lane closures will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday on westbound (inbound) I-376 (Parkway East) in the area of the bridge over Old William Penn Highway west of the Plum Interchange (Exit 84) in Monroeville. Crews will be performing drainage work.
Outbound
An outbound (eastbound) right lane closure will occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the area approaching the Squirrel Hill Tunnel Wednesday through Sunday nights. Crews will be installing a sign structure foundation.
Crews will be conducting concrete and guide rail connection work on bridge approaches on the outbound Parkway East between the Squirrel Hill Tunnel and the Commercial Street overpass west of the Edgewood-Swissvale interchange (Exit 77, Old Exit 7).
Outbound single lane closures will occur in this area from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday night.
Shoulder closures for sign work will also occur on various ramps at the Edgewood-Swissvale interchange from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. this week.
Both Directions
Single lane closures will occur in both directions on the Parkway East (I-376) in the area of the bridge that carries Jefferson Heights Road over the Parkway East between the Penn Hills (Exit 81, old Exit 11) and Plum (Exit 84B, old Exit 14B) interchanges from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday to Friday.
Motorists are advised to use caution, allow extra time, and be prepared for changing traffic patterns.
The $24.7 million project is the fourth phase to improve the Parkway East. The current project includes work in the inbound (westbound) direction, including milling and resurfacing all lanes and ramps, bridge repairs and painting, and other improvements.
