Pittsburgh Casino Put On Hold

Chance To Gamble Postponed Tentatively

PITTSBURGH —

Pittsburgh’s new slot machine casino might be held off longer.

The casino was originally scheduled to open in the summer of 2008 on the North Shore; however, the bidders who did not get the license appealed that decision.

Now the state supreme court has delayed hearing those arguments until May.

The license to the casino was awarded to Don Barden and his company PITG Gaming.

PITG said it will take about 14 months to build the casino once the appeals are over.
