Pittsburgh City Council Candidate's Headquarters Vandalized

PITTSBURGH —

A Republican candidate for Pittsburgh City Council became the target of vandals on Tuesday.

Police are searching for the vandal responsible for damaging the campaign headquarters of a Pittsburgh City Council candidate.

Police said someone broke two windows of Josh Wander’s campaign office in Squirrel Hill. Officials believe the vandals used BB guns.

Wander is running for the seat in Pittsburgh's 5th District.

He told Channel 11 News he's disappointed someone would do this.

“I hope that this doesn't continue because whether it be an overzealous supporter of my opponent or whoever it may be, this is just shameful for the city of Pittsburgh,” Wander said.

Wander also sent out a statement, saying he's upset that someone picked violence over a civil debate.

"They've escalated to the point where public discourse has led to violence, which is clearly unacceptable in a democracy," Wander said.

So far, police have made no arrests.
