Pittsburgh Planning Commission Signs Off On New Casino

River Life Task Forces Says It May Take Legal Action

The Pittsburgh planning commission signed off on the design of the city's 450-million dollar casino Monday night.

The unanimous vote came despite criticism over the casino's 119-foot-high garage.

An attorney for the Riverlife Task Force says the organization may take court action to challenge the approval.

Casino developer, Don Barden, has agreed to provide decorative screening on top of the gargage.

The casino is expected to open by May, 2009.
