Police Bust $1M Underground Meth Lab In Pittsburgh-Area

More than two dozen people were charged in a giant drug bust that spanned Mercer and Venango counties.

Attorney General Tom Corbett said charges were filed against more than 23 people in the $1 million meth lab operation.

"The investigation, also know as 'Operation Cave-In,' (was) allegedly run by Rockne Barber Sr., from Stoneboro, Venango County," Corbett said.

Barber, also known as "Rocky," is accused of producing methamphetamine by using a man-made underground lab near his Henderson Road home.

"Using a secret underground lab and a coordinated effort to gather meth-related ingredients across the region, this drug organization produced and sold an estimated $1 million worth of meth over the past four years," Corbett said.

Agents seized approximately $15,000 worth of meth oil (the final production step before finished meth); an assortment of meth-related chemicals and supplies; drug packaging materials; $20,000 in cash and a stockpile of 63 weapons, including a fully automatic machine gun, Corbett said.
