Police: Carrick Purse Snatcher Struck Victim With SUV

 

PITTSBURGH —

Police in Pittsburgh said a man stole a woman's purse then hit her with his car while making his getaway.

Investigators said the woman, whose name hasn’t been released, told officers she was sitting on a sidewalk along Brownsville Road in Carrick painting her nails Sunday afternoon when a man swiped her purse and jumped into a Chevrolet Blazer.

Police said the woman tried to stop the vehicle by stepping in front of it when she was struck. She suffered some scrapes to her knees and shoulder, police said.

The man is described as black, standing at medium height with a medium build. He appeared to b in his 20s, the woman said.

No arrests have been made. Authorities said the investigation is continuing.
