Police Find Bomb In Avonmore Home

State Police from the Kiski Valley Barracks responded to a domestic dispute on Butler Avenue in Avonmore Borough.

When officers arrived at the home, they found what appeared to be a pipe bomb.

The Allegheny County Bomb Squad was called for assistance and they removed the device.

Edward Russell Aikins was arrested for simple assault of his girlfriend.

Police have not yet charged Aikins with possession of a sensitive weapon.
