Police: Man Impersonated Officer In Green Township
GREEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Police have released new details about a case involving a man impersonating a police officer in Indiana County earlier this month.
State police said a man appeared at a woman's home along Mulberry Road in Green Township and identified himself as a police officer. He then threatened to charge the victim for an unknown violation, police said.
The woman contacted state police after the man left, and it was determined the man was not an officer.
"What we do ask is that people pay attention. If something doesn't seem right or if they become somewhat suspicious about the authenticity of that trooper or officer it's very simple, all they need to do is ask to see their badge," said Pennsylvania State Trooper John Matchik.
Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
