Police: Man Matching Rapist's Description Tried To Enter Franklin Park Home

FRANKLIN PARK, Pa. —

A man matching the same description as a suspected serial rapist in Ross Township tried to break into a home in Franklin Park on Monday, police said.

Police said the man tried to break into a home along Cole Road near Matterhorn Drive.

A woman who was home at the time scared off the intruder, who fled in a white vehicle, police said.

The man is described as black, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

A man matching the same description sexually assaulted two women in Ross Township and one in Hopewell Township since the weekend.

The first sexual assault in Ross Township happened at the Woodhawk Club early Saturday morning. The second was reported at the Cascades Apartments just off Cemetery Lane.

Investigators are working to see if the two are tied to a third sexual assault in Hopewell Township, which also happened on Saturday.

Police have confirmed that they’re talking to a person of interest as they continue to track down new leads.

Authorities have not named the person or said what led them to question him. They said he came to the station willingly and was later released.
