BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. —
"This has got to go down as one of the dumbest crimes of the month," Davis said.
Police said James Todd apparently didn't see the warning signs.
They said he was promptly arrested for possessing three stamped bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
"He had them in his pocket. After they found the straw, he admitted he had three packets of heroin in his pocket," Davis said.
Davis said he believed Todd's intent wasn't to sell, but to use.
According to the sheriff, many courthouse visitors forget they are carrying prohibitive items, whether they're drugs or weapons.
Todd was at the courthouse for a preliminary hearing.
