Polish Hill Blaze Causes $5,000 In Damages

 

PITTSBURGH —

One woman suffered second- and third-degree burns and two cats died in a house fire in Pittsburgh's Polish Hill section Monday morning.

Investigators told Channel 11 News that the woman, whose name has not been released, was burned on her hand in a small bedroom in the house. She was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.

Investigators said the fire on Melwood Avenue caused about $5,000 in damages.

There is no word on what caused the blaze. Authorities continue to investigate.
