Port Authority Directors Approve Fare Increase

PITTSBURGH —

The Allegheny County Port Authority voted Friday to increase fares.

The changes will take effect January First of 2010.

The $2 base fare will stay the same, but the cost for two-zone trips, transfers and passes will be increased.

Directors also approved changes to the bus and light rail system.

They will be phased in over the next two years, with the first route change expected in march.
