Port Authority Officials Consider Revised Fare Hike Plan

PITTSBURGH —

The Port Authority's Board of Directors will vote Friday on a revised fare increase plan.

On Wednesday, the authority's Planning and Development Committee recommended the approval of the transit development plan, related service guidelines and fare changes.

One key change is the reduction of the proposed Zone 2 fare from $3 to $2.75. The current fare is $2.60.

The revised plan would also keep the base fare for Zone 1 at $2, but increase prices for other services after the first of the year.

The Port Authority said it has modified 27 route proposals because of public input from riders.
