PITTSBURGH —
The 2005 incident led to the mayor being placed in handcuffs.
Ravenstahl has told Channel 11 News that he was involved in an incident at Heinz Field back in October 2005.
The mayor had tickets to a Monday night football game between the Steelers and the Ravens.
Security was tight that night and the lines were long, said Ravenstahl.
The mayor said he and others were shoved from behind and that led to a loud exchange and physical contact with a Pittsburgh police officer.
The mayor was taken away but never charged with anything. He called it a misunderstanding.
The State Republican Party issued this comment: "If Luke Ravenstahl's ability to run the city is hampered in any way by this, it will become a campaign issue in the May primary."
