Rivers Casino Announces Charities To Benefit From Test Nights

PITTSBURGH —

On Tuesday, the Rivers Casino announced that four charities have been selected for upcoming Test Nights. The Test Nights will happen on Saturday August 1 and Monday, August 3.

The two benefit nights are invitation only events, where all gaming proceeds from the evening will be donated to the following organizations:

ALLEGHENY COUNTY WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL, which is building a memorial on the North Shore to honor the region's World War II veterans and their contribution to the war effort.

URBAN LEAGUE OF GREATER PITTSBURGH, which serves as the largest comprehensive social service/civil rights organizations in southwestern Pennsylvania.

THE GREATER PITTSBURGH FOOD BANK, which collects and distributes food through a 350+ member network in 11 counties in southwestern Pennsylvania.

ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL, which is located on the North Side of Pittsburgh. It's a six-hospital not-for-profit health system, offering a comprehensive array of medical and surgical services to Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.

"That is was an extremely difficult decision to reach because there are so many worthy and valuable organizations that do great work for the community," Ed Fasulo, President and COO.

When completed, the Rivers Casino will be a 400,000 square foot entertainment facility with 3,000 slot machines, four restaurants, four bars and lounges, an amphitheater, a boat dock and riverfront paths located on the North Shore.

In addition to new jobs, the project will also generate tax revenue for the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
