Santorum Claims WMD Found In Iraq

Pentagon Releases Report

PITTSBURGH —

Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is talking about his claim weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq.

The Pentagon report said the military has found about 500 weapons munitions that contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent.

"I think the American public has a right to know whether we have found weapons of mass destruction and what the character of those weapons are,” Santorum said.

However, the Pentagon said the shells are old and inactive, dating back to the Iran-Iraq War in the 80's.

It also said the shells are "not the weapons of mass destruction we were looking for" when U.S. forces went into Iraq.
