Services To Be Held For Somerset Teen Killed In Crash After Concert

LAUGHLINTOWN, Pa. —

Visitation services will be held Monday evening for a Somerset County boy killed in a crash along Route 30 in Ligonier Township early Saturday morning.

John Blough, a freshman at North Star High School, died at the scene of a three-car accident following the Britney Spears concert at Mellon Arena.

Blough was riding home with friends and parents when their car was rear-ended at a traffic light. Blough was a back seat passenger in the car and died at the scene. Another student is being treated for injuries from the crash.

Counselors greeted students and faculty at North Star on Monday to help with their grief.

"Johhny touched a lot of people's lives whether they were a coach, teacher, aide, cafeteria worker ... right down to the student body," said North Start principal Joseph Bradley.

"I knew about the students going. They were so excited to go, but I didn't think anything like this would befall them," said North Star student Brittney Trout.

Visitation services will be at Hoffman Funeral Home in Boswell from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service is set for Wednesday.
