Somerset County Couple Dead After Fall From Cliff

LINCOLN TOWNSHIP, Penn. —

A discovery was made Sunday afternoon at the base of Beam Rocks in Somerset County. State police thoroughly searched the area after a couple was reported missing.

The Somerset County coroner is investigating the bodies of two individuals found dead Sunday afternoon, not far from Forbes National Forest.

No names have been released, but an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

State police said the bodies are those of a male and a female.

They were found at the base of Beam Rocks, not far from the Laurel Summit picnic area.

Police are looking for anyone who might have been hiking in the area between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Any potential witnesses are being asked to call the Somerset barracks of the state police department.
