Specter Attends Ribbon-Cutting Of New Children’s Hospital

 

PITTSBURGH —

A ribbon-cutting ceremony officially marked the completion of the new $622 million Children’s Hospital on Thursday.

Well over a hundred patients, staff members and guests attended the ceremony in Lawrenceville.

Sen. Arlen Specter was among the many officials on hand to celebrate the culmination of the seven-year-long project.

The hospital will officially open its doors on May 2 when more than 150 current patients will be transported to the new building.

The new hospital is on the site of the former St. Francis Medical Center.
