PITTSBURGH —
Police are looking for suspects that are believed to be in the Pittsburgh area.
Police have named several individuals they are interested in questioning.
They are identified as Jack Woods, 23, Andrew Palmer, 21, Byron Rice, 26, Jabbar Odell James, 28, and Phillip Peterson, 30.
Police have already charged one woman with hindering the apprehension of suspects. It is not clear just how many people have been questioned in this case.
SWAT teams took to the streets early Tuesday morning to aid in the search. Members are not saying what areas they will be concentrating on. Local county and state agencies are also going to take part in the search.
Police spent part of Monday night searching several Pittsburgh neighborhoods, including Brookline and the South Side. Officers brought in dogs and helicopters to help.
Traffic lined up at a main intersection in Brookline, where police stopped cars. Officers also searched a number of homes and apartment buildings.
Brookline resident Shawna Baker said, "We had left our keys in the door last night. We heard something downstairs, so they came in and searched, but there was nothing down there. It was all right."
"I think it's a tragedy, and I think all the tenants want to do everything they could to cooperate," apartment owner Claudio Simione said.
In addition to searching people's cars in Brookline, investigators also combed through Pokorny's car for any potential clues. It was left outside this Extended Stay America Hotel in Carnegie where Pokorny was gunned down.
Police also blocked off the entrance to St. Clair village Tuesday checking vehicles going in and out of the housing complex.
Police were searching for suspects wanted in connection for the shooting death of the state trooper.
At one point, police with photos in hand of the men their looking for boarded a port authority bus eyeing each and every passenger.
As Pittsburgh police guarded the entrance, more than a dozen police cars rolled through the complex.
State police along with Pittsburgh police and Allegheny County sheriff's deputies went from building to building, with guns drawn, searching for suspects.
About an hour later, police left St Clair Village without making any arrests.
Police have been on heightened alert since the shooting.
Earlier Tuesday, Pittsburgh police stopped an SUV on the Liberty Bridge.
Police armed with guns surrounded the vehicle.
They handcuffed two men and put them into patrol cars.
Eventually they let one of the men go, but they took the other man away.
Police have not said why they took the man into custody.
Funeral arrangements for Pokorny have been made.
Viewing will be held Wednesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Darroch Memorial Chapel in Aliquippa.
There will be an FOP memorial service Thursday at 7 p.m.
A service at the funeral home will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a mass at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Pokorny leaves behind a 17-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter.
