ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A SWAT team was called to a Ross Township home Thursday after a man reportedly barricaded himself inside with a weapon.
According to police, the incident began at a home on Mt. Troy Road Extension around 1:30 p.m.
An emergency dispatcher said the SWAT team was called after a man reached out to someone for help, and they were concerned he could pose a danger.
Neighbors who went outside to see what was going on were told to stay back.
“The police said, more or less, for everyone to go in their house and lock the doors. They said to stay inside because of an unstable situation with a man,” Chuck Elstner said.
Authorities haven’t released any information except to say the situation ended around 3:15 p.m. Traffic that had been detoured is now moving regularly.
