Taser Victim's Father Speaks Out Over Son's Death

SWISSVALE, Pa. —

Police are investigating a man's death after he was shocked with a Taser stun gun in Swissvale Monday night.

Allegheny County police said police in Swissvale used the Taser on the man after he refused to follow their orders and made "furtive movements toward the officers” along Hawthorne Avenue.

The man, whose identity hasn't been released, was pronounced dead at a Pittsburgh-area hospital.

Police said the man had been acting erratically and trying to enter residents' homes shortly before 12 a.m. Tuesday.

"I want to know what happened, what the particulars of the incident were that caused my son's death,” said the man’s father, Dennis Thomas.

An autopsy will be performed.
