A student from China had a rude and costly introduction to the United States when he arrived for classes in Chicago.
The 18-year-old student arrived at O'Hare Airport en route to the University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill. He was supposed to take a bus to the campus, but ended up hopping into a cab when the cabbie told the student the bus wasn't coming.
The pair had agreed to a $1,000 fare for the two-hour trip, but when they arrived, the cabbie told the student the price went up to $4,200. The normal cost of the cab ride would have been $300.
