Teen Causes SUV To Roll Into Swimming Pool

SOUTH STRABANE TPOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Police in South Strabane Township said a teenager jumped from an out-of-control sport utility vehicle that crashed through a fence and ended up in a community swimming pool.

Police said the 17-year-old driver was trying to put the Ford Explorer into gear on Willowbrook Drive at about 1 a.m. Sunday when it began to roll backward. The girl tried to stop the SUV to no avail and jumped out before it picked up too much speed.

The vehicle rolled down a hill, through a fence and crashed into the pool at Cameron Estates.

The driver suffered minor bruises and no other injuries were reported. A crane pulled the SUV from the pool later Sunday.

Police in South Strabane Township said a sport utility vehicle rolled into a swimming pool when the brakes failed.
