Teen Falls Off 50-Foot Cliff In O'Hara Township

O'HARA TOWNSHIP —

Police are investigating to determine if drugs or alcohol were factors when a teenager fell off a cliff in O’Hara Township on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old boy fell about 50 feet near Route 28 shortly after 4 p.m.

Rescue crews were at Meadow Park Lane, trying to figure out how the teen ended up at the bottom. The boy told police he blacked out, and then woke up at the bottom and used his cell phone to call for help.

Crews had to use a basket lift to get him out.

"We have had past incidents in this location. It used to be a party spot, and they used to go drinking and stuff there. It is straight down and all rock," said Officer Kevin Carney.

Police said the teen was taken to a local hospital and treated for leg and back injuries as well as a cut to his head.
