PITTSBURGH —
A 19-year-old accused of shooting a local high school basketball star turned himself in to police overnight.
Aliquippa High School senior Herb Pope is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Marcus Longmire turned himself into the Beaver County Jail shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Police issued a warrant for Longmire's arrest on Monday after learning of a confrontation at a party at a house on Saturday night.
Police said Pope refused to give Longmire a ride.
The party was in honor of Pope's appearance in a high school all-star game in Chicago to be held Tuesday night.
Longmire faces attempted homicide, aggravated assault and simple assault charges.
He was arraigned by video before District Justice Shaffer. Bond was set at $500,000. Previous Stories: March 31, 2007: Arrest Warrant Issued In Basketball Star's Shooting March 31, 2007: Aliquippa Hoops Star Shot
