ORLANDO, Fla. —

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin spoke publicly for the first time about the accusations against quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

A 20-year-old college student is accusing Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting her earlier this month at a night club in Georgia.

According to NFL.com, Tomlin told NFL Network he expressed anxiety over the allegations.

"I'm highly concerned for our franchise and for Ben, personally," Tomlin said. "My concerns are many, but I think at this time, it's kind of appropriate to watch these things and let these things run their course."

Tomlin talked to NFL Network while attending the NFL Annual Meeting in Orlando.

"I think it would be inappropriate for me to have strong feelings one way or another with the investigation being ongoing and so forth. Like everyone else, you watch these things unfold," Tomlin said.

Roethlisberger, 28, has not been charged in the case. Defense attorney Ed Garland said Roethlisberger has not committed a crime.
