Tractor Flips In Greene County, Killing Two

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Leah Zwerver, 23, of Waynesburg and Stephen Yourchik, 20, of Clarksville, were both killed Saturday when a tractor they were riding flipped over.

Police report that four individuals were driving a truck off road in the grassy field at near Pitt Gas Road in Jefferson Township, Greene County. When the truck became stuck in the mud, the two victims walked to Yourchik's residence to get a tractor to pull the truck onto dry ground.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., police said the victims drove the tractor up a hill on the way back to the truck, and the steep grade caused the tractor to flip over, crushing both of the subjects.

Jefferson VFD and EMS Southwest ambulance personnel responded to the scene and checked both Yourchik and Zwerver for signs of life with negative results. Greene County Deputy Coroner Mary Lewis pronounced both subjects dead at the scene.
