PITTSBURGH —
The arrival time for the fallen officers at the City Council Building on Wednesday will be 2:00 PM. The closure of Grant Street to accommodate their arrival will take place from 1:45 PM until 2:30 PM. Both Grant Street Exits from the Parkway East & West, and the ramp leading from Wood Street to Grant Street will be closed from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM. to allow for the bodies of the fallen officers to be placed inside the City County Building. Grant Street will be closed Northbound at the Blvd. of the Allies through Fourth Avenue and Southbound from Forbes Avenue to Fourth Avenue. This will be a total closure.
For the next 24 hours the following restrictions will be in place:
Grant Street will be open to one lane in each direction. Parking restrictions will take place along Grant Street, The Blvd. of the Allies, Second Avenue and Ross Street. All of these restrictions are in place to permit the parking of marked police vehicles while officers are paying their respects.
The Memorial procession will depart the City County Building at 12:00 noon Thursday. There will be a closure of a portion of Grant Street at this time. The procession will depart the City County Building Northbound on Grant Street and enter the Port Authority East Busway at Liberty Avenue. All cars will exit the Port Authority East Busway at Neville Street. The procession will proceed on Neville Street to Fifth Avenue, turning right on Fifth Avenue and then right again onto DeSoto Street. Vehicles will turn left on Terrance Street and then right onto Sutherland Drive, where they will arrive at The Petersen Events Center in Oakland.
