Trooper Dragged By Car While Making Arrest

 

BUTLER Co., Pa. —

A Butler County man is charged with assault after dragging a state trooper with his vehicle.

It happened in Chicora, Butler County,early Friday morning.

Police said 35-year-old Shane Travis Nolan was in his car in the parking lot of Friedman’s grocery store when the trooper tried to arrest him on allegations of violating a protection from abuse order.

According to police, Nolan took off, and when the trooper tried to stop him he was dragged by Nolan’s car for a short distance before falling off.

Nolan continued driving for 15 to 20 minutes.

Finally, police managed to stop him and arrested him.

He was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding police, and DUI.

Nolan is in the Butler County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
