PITTSBURGH —
Christopher Strothers, 28, claims Trooper Samuel Nassan assaulted him outside a Pittsburgh bar in July 2008. Strothers claims city police were breaking up a fight between Strothers and a woman when Nassan intervened, handcuffed him and threw him down.
Strothers' lawyer said settlement terms reached last week are confidential.
Nassan fatally shot unarmed Michael Ellerbe, 12, of Uniontown in 2002. That lawsuit was settled for $12.5 million.
Nassan is also being sued by the family of a Pittsburgh motorist he fatally shot in March during a drunken driving patrol.
