VENANGO: Forest Seeks Input On Oil, Gas Issues

 

CLARION, Pa. —

About 40 individuals attended a meeting Wednesday in Clarion that served as an initial step in the Allegheny National Forest's public input process regarding its preparation of a supplemental environmental impact statement for the 2007 revised plan.

The session at the Clarion Holiday Inn was the last of three held this week as part of an initiative to assess the environmental effects of more than 1,200 wells drilled in Pennsylvania's only national forest last year and where more than 9,000 wells are operating.
