Visitation Held For 3 Women Found Dead In Loyalhanna Factory

LOYALHANNA TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A visitation was held on Tuesday for three women found shot to death inside a Loyalhanna Township glass factory last week.

Police said the victims were Edith Tietge, 81; her sister, Doris Murphy, 69; and Murphy's daughter, Kris Murphy, 43.

All worked at the office of Ferguson Auto Glass, and all had been shot in the head, police said. Their bodies were discovered at about 6 p.m. Thursday by a relative.

Visitation for the women was from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Curren Funeral Home in Saltsburg.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Kevin Murphy is the owner of Ferguson Auto Glass and is the son of Doris Murphy and brother to Kris Murphy, two of the victims.

According to police warrants, police requested a blood sample from Kevin Murphy so they can compare his DNA to that found on .22-caliber pistol found near the door of the shop.

The warrant said the handgun used in the slayings is believed to be the same gun Kevin Murphy brought to the shop this week.

However, Kevin Murphy has not been named a suspect by police.

The Pennsylvania State Police and the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office are investigating the deaths.
