Water Main Break In Scott Twp. Floods House, Leaves Dozen Without Service

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A water main break in Scott Township left about a dozen people without service on Thursday morning.

According to Pennsylvania American Water spokesman Gary Lobaugh, a six-inch line broke along Sommerville Drive.

Channel 11's Lori Houy reported that the break caused the road to cave in, sending water down the street and flooding Kaye Peterson's house.

"I haven't had time to process it. It's just a mess," said Paterson. "It was looking like a swimming pool. Everything was floating inside."

Paterson said firefighters pumped about three feet of water from her garage and basement.

Lobaugh said the line was repaired and service was restored by noon.
