Widow Makes Plea For Help In Sheraden Shooting

PITTSBURGH —

Police said a Pittsburgh man is dead after being shot following a relative's wedding reception in Sheraden.

Police said Gabriel Turner, 26, died early Sunday morning after being shot in the chest and leg and walking several blocks before collapsing from the wounds.

Family members said Turner had left a relative's wedding reception and was on his way to his mother-in-law's house when he was shot. Police said Turner collapsed outside a senior citizen high rise along Hillsboro Street after ringing a bell for help.

Turner was recently wed himself. He had been married in June and had six children.

His widow, Kevina, now has the painful task of planning his funeral.

"Everybody keeps on saying I saw this, but I don't want to say anything to the police, because I am scared,” said Kevina Turner.

“'What are you scared of?'” Kevina said her friends asked her. “’You should be scared of that maniac still being on the street.’ That's what you should be scared of. Don't be scared to bring him down.’”

The couple's wedding pictures arrived in the mail Monday and Kevina showed the photos to Channel 11 News.

"He was just such a good man. A good everything. Good husband, good father. That's why I don't understand," Kevina said. "He is not a bad person. He is not a thug. He is not a drug dealer. He is not a hot head, none of that."

Police said they have not made an arrest and a motive has not been established.
