Wife Of A Local Serviceman Picks Up The Pieces After House Fire

SMITHTON, Pa. —

A local woman is dealing with a setback after flames destroyed her home in Smithton, Westmoreland County.

The fire started early Sunday morning when Corey Dally's son was sleeping. He woke up, smelled smoke, and discovered the house was engulfed in flames.

Everyone made it out safely, but the home is a total loss.

Corey Dally's husband is in the Army National Guard. She delivered the bad news to him over the phone. "I said I guess you heard, and he said heard what. I said about the house and he said no, and I said well our house is burned down," she said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
