Wife Of Wanted Man Asks Him To Come Home

WESTMORELAND CO. —

On Wednesday night, police were still searching for 44-year-old David McGinnis.

On Monday police went to his home in Bolivar in Westmoreland County to arrest him on insurance fraud charges. They fired pepper spray canisters into his home, but McGinnis was not there.

Police said since he has been on the run he is accused of burning a house down early Tuesday and threatening a man with a shotgun.

And on Wednesday, police blocked off a section of Creek Road in Bolivar after a neighbor reported spotting McGinnis.

McGinnis's wife spoke to Channel 11 on Wednesday evening.

She denied the insurance fraud charges against them and said they never collected $25,000 in the case.

She also said she doesn't understand why her husband is running and asked him to turn himself in.

She said she is worried about him because he needs to take medication every day for a thyroid condition.

State police are no longer using helicopters to search for him, but but said there is still an active search and believe McGinnis may be hiding in the woods around Bolivar.
