Will Pittsburgh Abortion Clinics Be Protected Under Buffer Zone?

Protesters Will Stand 100 Feet Away

PITTSBURGH —

Abortion clinics in the city of Pittsburgh could soon be more protected under a buffer zone.

City council is expected to take a preliminary vote Wednesday afternoon.

Under the proposed ordinance, anti-abortion protesters would be forced to stand 100 feet from abortion clinics.

Protesters within the zone would have to stay at least 8 feet away from anyone going into the clinic who wants to be left alone.

Opponents of the plan are expected to voice their opinions.

A final vote will be taken Monday.
