Woman, 60, Stabbed With Hypodermic Needle In Scottdale Robbery

 

SCOTTDALE, Pa. —

Police in Scottdale are investigating an attempted robbery during which a 60-year-old woman was stabbed with a hypodermic needle.

Scottdale police said the attempted robbery happened Wednesday shortly before 9 a.m. in front of the Centennial Way Rite Aid.

The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, told police heavyset, white female with blond hair and a ponytail approached her and demanded money as she was getting out of her car.

The victim said the woman pushed her in the back of the head and stabbed her several times with the needle before fleeing in a purple van.

Police have not identified a suspect in the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
