Woman Accused Of Animal Cruelty Pleads Guilty

WASHINGTON, CO. —

Jean Watson of Amwell Township in Washington County pleaded guilty to reduced animal cruelty charges involving 23 horses.

Watson was accused of keeping malnourished horses at a farm in South Franklin Township.

Humane agents went to the farm in February after getting a complaint about the horses.

The horses were removed from the property and several were adopted. Others are in foster care.

One horse died of malnutrition and another had to be euthanized.

On Tuesday, Watson agreed to pay $800 in fines and was told she could not own a horse for four years.
