TACOMA, Wash. —

A Tacoma woman was arrested on arson charges Monday after she lit a rug on fire in her home because she was angry about her husband's possible infidelities, police said.

The couple’s children called 911 to say they were hiding in a closet on the second floor to avoid the fire on the first floor of the home in the 3800 block of East J Street.

By the time fire and police arrived, the woman had put the fire out, but one of the children needed to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The woman was taken into custody and the children were placed into their father’s custody.
