Woman, Child Injured In Route 422 Crash

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Police said icy conditions are to blame for a crash along Route 422 in Butler County Wednesday night.

According to police, a tractor-trailer tried to stop at a red light at the intersection of Route 422 and Eagle Mill Road in Franklin Township, but because the road was icy, the truck slid through the intersection and into the driver's side of a minivan.

Minetta Brown, 50, and a 10-year-old passenger inside the van hurt. The 10-year-old was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, where her condition is unknown.

The truck driver was not hurt, police said.

Crews shut down part of Route 422 for a few hours while they cleared the scene.
