Angela Marinucci was convicted earlier this year of killing Jennifer Daugherty. Marinucci's attorney said she deserves a new trial because the judge didn't give specific instructions about a potential witness list to the jury.

The jury found that Marinucci was the mastermind behind Daugherty's torture and killing, which police said took place in February 2010.

Investigators said Daugherty was ultimately stabbed to death. Five others co-defendants face first-degree murder charges in the case.

Also revealed in court on Friday was that one of those co-defendants, Robert Masters, was offered a plea bargain.

The district attorney said that he would dismiss some of the murder charges against Masters if he agreed to testify against his friends, however an agreement was never reached.
