Nuclear bunker being used as illegal marijuana growing facility

WILTSHIRE, UK — Police in the United Kingdom raided a nuclear bunker and found a large marijuana factory with a crop estimated at more than $1.2 million.

Six people were arrested in the overnight raid.  The underground bunker was built in the 1980s to protect government officials in case of a nuclear attack.

The site is no longer owned by the government, but the bunker is intact and the nuclear blast doors are still in place.

The police said that because the bunker is almost completely impenetrable, officers waited outside for people to leave it and then detained them.

Inside, police found several thousand marijuana plants at various stages of growth.  The bunker has 20 rooms on two floors, each 200 feet long and 70 feet long.  Almost all of it was full of marijuana plants, and police found a large amount of evidence that crops have been grown there for a long time.
