PITTSBURGH — A young boy was hit by a car Saturday night while trick-or-treating in Edgewood, police said.
The child, believed to be 4 or 5 years old, was crossing the street near the corner of Linden and Maple avenues about 7:30 p.m. when struck by the vehicle, officials said.
According to police, the Penn Hills boy was taken to Children’s Hospital with a head injury.
Investigators said he had been trick-or-treating with his grandmother, and was wearing a dark costume when he was hit.
The driver, a 26-year-old woman from Edgewood, stopped immediately after the incident, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
