Penn State attorneys begin negotiations with sex abuse scandal victims

STATE COLLEGE, Pa — Attorneys for Penn State have started “good faith negotiations” with the nearly two dozen men who say Jerry Sandusky abused them.

The attorneys said the school has not set aside a certain amount of money for potential settlements and also left open the possibility that the process could stretch beyond the end of the year.

Last month, Penn State officials said they had hoped to resolve the claims by the end of the year.
